All our tours begin at the Mercat Cross on the High Street. The Mercat Cross is an eight-sided, stone monument with a white-painted unicorn on top. It is just downhill from St Giles Cathedral, opposite the City Chambers on the Royal Mile.

The City of Edinburgh is compact and it is easy and very, very pleasant to walk from one part of the town centre to another. We would urge you to make the most of your visit to come in by bus or train and then find your way on foot to the Mercat Cross where your tour awaits!
